We had the exciting role of styling the Hepatitis Queensland film launch, Dancing in the Rain (2017). Hepatitis Queensland in partnership with The African Australians Women’s Association for Queensland delivered an evening of entertainment, speakers, performances, and the screening of the light-hearted short film that explores the subject of Hepatitis B amongst the African-Australian community. Our design pitch was red-carpet glam meets tribal. Our focal feature was a tropical photo-booth; a luscious arbor envisioned and assembled by our team. The interplay of luxe metals and natural fibers made for a beautiful contradiction. The bamboo and crystal chandeliers were quite the contrast with cascading foliage, pine seeds, orchids, pineapples and bananas– yep, fresh pineapples and bananas! Incorporating raw and organic against sleek modern structures made this project very close to home, in terms of reflecting elements of our rich cultural background. Above all, it was all in support of a very powerful and worthy cause.
